Coldwater Shuffleboard Club
Executive Board Meeting August 5, 2008
The executive board meeting was
called to order at 3:45 P.M. after shuffling.
Present at the
meeting were: president Gary Pipher, vice president Ross Matthews,
treasurer Barb Pipher, secretary Lorraine Pollock and directors Doris
Bumstead, Joe Morfitt and George O’Reilly.
Motion by George
O’Reilly and seconded by Ross Matthews to dispense with reading the
minutes as everyone was given a written copy.
Barb Pipher told us
we have a bank balance of $5,103.68
New
Business
President Pipher
told us that the shelving is in the new shed and extra keys have been made
and a set is hanging in the office along with the keys to the garbage bin.
The Centennial Book is finished and our ad looks great. They will
bring it on Thursday for everyone to see.
Shirts with the logo
have been ordered. A total of 39 so far.
Winter Shuffling – Motion
by Ross Matthews and seconded by Joe Morfitt that the fee for winter
shuffling be $15.00 subject to the number of people that sign up for it.
President Pipher will inquire about coffee facilities. George O’Reilly
will look after things in the winter and they will take 16 cues and 4 sets
of discs. President Pipher will inquire about the necessity of having
separate insurance for the equipment that is stored in the shed.
The last day of shuffling for the summer season will be September
18th. We will have a closing banquet after shuffling and the AGM . Larry
LaLonde will cater for the meal. The cost of the meal will be $15.00.
Motion by Lorraine Pollock and seconded by Joe Morfitt that the club will
subsidize the total to a maximum of $600.00. Carried
A count of
members wishing to attend will be made. If there is room after this is
done guests may be invited at full cost of $15.00.
It has been
suggested that we use some of our funds to purchase a light weight vacuum,
fans for out on the courts, share the cost of a defibulator with the
Curling Club. These are just suggestions.
